Suburb fit for the elderly that’s about it.
Negative: The host had to many rules for the property which are rather unusual considering it’s a holiday home. And these rules came in message after message. Perhaps the host should consider opening the property as a museum rather than a holiday house, due to its apparent heritage.
We felt like children on a school camp. Don’t do this and don’t do that. No shoes inside, quick showers, no noise after 9:30pm due to the suburb being for the elderly only. Green waste in this bin only!
There’s a fire pit that you can’t use as there is no fire wood, or seating near the fire pit. And the fire pit was full of garden waste.
The cutlery draw was extremely dirty, with other guests crumbs and hair, which put us off using any of it.
There is a clear ant problem in the kitchen which isn’t mentioned.
Front yard is overgrown and very unsightly, nothing like the pictures provided. Only half of the house had electricity. Light switch in the kitchen was taped over with sticky tape which meant we had no light in the kitchen to prepare food. We have stayed in many holiday homes on our travels and this has been the worst stay we have ever experienced. And definitely not value for money! Family related to the host live just a few steps away so you kind of feel like you don’t have privacy for your stay. The toilet seat was broken and almost falls off when you use the toilet.
The backyard is very overgrown and very untidy. The bed sheets in the master bedroom had wear hole’s clearly visible.
There’s no kitchen garbage bin for household rubbish. So you have to carry everything outside to the bin and sort out your rubbish into the appropriate bins. Definitely not an enjoyable place to holiday comfortably. Our stay at the pines was very disappointing for the high cost of the accommodation. We did not cook here as upon arrival we were told that the property manager wasn’t sure if the oven had been cleaned after the previous guests. Not what you want to hear when you’re checking into a property.
